Our client is a large, globally recognised organisation operating at scale across commodities trading and energy markets. They are undertaking a major transformation of their trading and data platforms, modernising legacy infrastructure into cloud-native, high-performance architectures.
Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced Technical Lead to drive the migration of a complex Pricing & Market Data ecosystem from legacy database environments to a scalable, cloud-native architecture.
This is a high-impact role, working at the intersection of Front Office, Risk, and Engineering teams, with responsibility for ensuring data integrity, regulatory compliance, and performance at scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end migration of pricing and market data platforms to cloud-native architecture (including NoSQL technologies)
- Design scalable data models for high-volume, time-series financial data
- Oversee delivery of pricing logic, curve construction, and valuation processes
- Own data pipelines, ensuring performance, resilience, and low latency
- Implement robust audit, control, and regulatory compliance frameworks
- Collaborate with Traders, Quants, and Risk teams to translate business needs into technical solutions
- Provide technical leadership, set engineering standards, and mentor teams
Candidate Profile
Will ideally have:
- Strong experience in pricing and market data systems within trading environments
- Deep expertise in database engineering (SQL & NoSQL) and cloud migration
- Experience designing scalable architectures for real-time or near real-time data
- Proven delivery in regulated environments (e.g. financial controls, audit requirements)
- Strong stakeholder engagement across Front Office and Risk
Nice to Have:
- Experience with enterprise data management platforms
- Background in commodities or financial markets
- Strong scripting or development skills (e.g. Python, Java)
- Experience with large-scale transformation or migration programmes
