Software Engineer (Java) – Broadcast / Video Technology

We are looking for a talented Software Engineer to join a growing engineering team within the broadcast technology sector. You’ll play a key role in building and supporting scalable backend systems that power modern media and video workflows.
Experience in the broadcast or video industry is highly desirable, but not essential; we welcome candidates from any domain with strong backend expertise and a passion for building reliable systems.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Designing, building, and maintaining backend services and APIs
- Working on distributed, event-driven systems and microservices architectures
- Supporting and improving production systems, ensuring reliability and performance
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software
- Monitoring system health and responding to issues in production environments
- Contributing to CI/CD pipelines and improving engineering workflows
Technical Skills & Experience
- Java backend development
- Building and supporting APIs and microservices
- Databases such as Oracle and/or Couchbase
- Messaging and event-driven systems (e.g. Kafka, ActiveMQ, AmazonMQ)
- Observability tools (logs, metrics, alerting – e.g. Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch)
- CI/CD pipelines and modern build tools (e.g. Concourse, Git-based workflows)
- Debugging and supporting live production systems
How You Work
- You can ramp up quickly and work with minimal supervision
- You ask the right questions early to keep things moving
- You communicate clearly about progress, risks, and blockers
Desirable (But Not Essential)
- Experience in the broadcast, media, or video technology industry
- Familiarity with video streaming, encoding, or media workflows
