Job Description:

As Member Engagement Officer at the Scottish Wholesale Association (SWA), you will be at the heart of enhancing member engagement, recruitment and retention, while elevating the overall value and experience of membership. Your key responsibilities will include strengthening relationships with existing members and promoting membership to new businesses, encouraging them to participate in SWA events, training programmes and other activities. Managing membership payments, and sponsorship initiatives, will also form key parts of your role. A core focus of your role will be to help develop content that serves our diverse membership base, including the collation and sharing of sector data and insight, direct and indirect opportunities for wholesaler and supplier introductions, networking, and identifying training needs to be addressed through our training academy. You will be responsible for maintaining and developing the CRM system to ensure accuracy and maximise penetration of SWA communications to all interested parties. Reporting to the Chief Executive, you will deliver against agreed priorities and financial targets, gathering valuable feedback from members, and identifying new ways to deliver enhanced value both to members and the wholesale sector as a whole. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of the wholesale marketplace, ideally from a background in wholesale or food and drink supplier businesses, particularly at the account management or customer relations level, or with experience in a member-focused organisation. Your expertise should include delivering member or client-centred communications and events, utilising two-way engagement channels effectively, achieving financial targets and building long-term relationships that add value. Experience with CRM systems and data analysis for trend identification is an advantage, but not essential. Strong written and oral communication skills, the ability to engage diverse audiences, and a collaborative, relationship-building approach will be key to your success in this role.
