Head of Technology

E1 Partners is currently supporting a leading UK energy business in the search for a Head of IT to lead their technology function and deliver their long-term technology strategy.

This role will oversee Software Development, Business Intelligence, IT Operations, Business Change, and Project Delivery, ensuring a secure and high-performing Microsoft Azure-based technology platform that supports business growth.

Key responsibilities include:

• Overseeing software development and application architecture
• Leading IT operations, cybersecurity, and Microsoft 365 services
• Driving data strategy and business intelligence capability
• Delivering technology-led change and transformation programmes
• Managing IT budgets, suppliers, and a high-performing technology team
• Working closely with senior leadership to shape the technology roadmap

Experience Required:

• Experienced Head of IT or senior IT leader – Software Engineering & Development is ideal
• Background across IT operations, development, and security
• Proven delivery of large-scale technology change programmes
• Strong Microsoft Azure and Microsoft ecosystem experience
• Ideally, experience within the UK Energy or Utilities sector
