The Opportunity
We’re working with a leading consultancy delivering enterprise-scale digital transformation programmes, currently seeking an experienced Technical Architect to lead the design and delivery of secure, scalable cloud solutions.
This is a high-impact contract role focused on shaping Azure-based architectures within a regulated environment — ideal for someone who combines deep technical expertise with strong stakeholder engagement.

The Role
As a Technical Architect, you will take ownership of the end-to-end architecture across Azure-hosted platforms. You’ll define technical direction, ensure alignment with enterprise strategy, and guide engineering teams in delivering robust, future-proof solutions.
You’ll act as the technical authority across the programme — balancing innovation, security, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and own architecture blueprints for Azure-based solutions
- Establish and enforce coding, design, and configuration standards
- Collaborate with engineering, QA, and delivery teams to ensure alignment
- Lead the design and implementation of CI/CD pipelines
- Ensure solutions meet security, compliance, and governance standards
- Document architectural decisions and designs (e.g. via SharePoint)
- Conduct architecture reviews and ensure adherence to best practices
- Provide hands‑on guidance for complex technical challenges
- Identify opportunities for system modernisation and optimisation
Required Experience
- Proven background in microservices architecture and API design
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows, and automation
- Solid understanding of security frameworks and compliance standards
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Ability to operate in complex, enterprise‑scale environments
- Exposure to DevOps / DevSecOps practices
- Experience within regulated industries (e.g. public sector, finance)
- Knowledge of performance tuning and monitoring tools
- Experience with hybrid cloud and on‑premise integrations
