ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a skilled Fire & Security Engineer to join our growing team. You will be responsible for the installation, service, maintenance, and commissioning of a wide range of fire and security systems. As a key representative of ACEDA on client sites, you will ensure all work is delivered to the highest standards of safety, accuracy, and professionalism.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Installation & Commissioning: Install and commission fire alarms, CCTV, access control, intruder alarms, and associated systems to relevant standards.
- Service & Maintenance: Carry out routine servicing, fault-finding, repairs, and system upgrades.
- Technical Evaluation: Assess system performance, diagnose issues, and provide recommendations for improvements or remedial work.
- Documentation & Reporting: Complete accurate job sheets, risk assessments, method statements, and system documentation.
- Client Communication: Act as a professional point of contact, providing clear updates and ensuring client satisfaction.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure all work meets industry standards, legislation, and ACEDA’s safety and quality requirements.
- Stock & Resource Management: Manage materials, tools, and equipment.
- Team Support: Assist colleagues, share technical knowledge, and contribute to continuous improvement across the department.
QUALIFICATIONS
ESSENTIAL
- Proven experience as a Fire or Security Engineer.
- Strong competency in fire alarm, security system installation or service, and maintenance.
- Good understanding of industry standards.
- Ability to read technical drawings and system schematics.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
DESIRABLE
- FIA, SSAIB, or NSI-related qualifications.
- Experience with a variety of manufacturer systems (e.g., Honeywell, Hikvision, Paxton, Gent, Advanced, Texecom, Bosch).
- Experience using Simpro or other service/project management software.
