Fabulous new opportunity in Bristol for a Principal Systems Engineer to join a well established innovative UK tech company. This is a senior hands‑on technical role with high visibility across the business. You will be helping to define and drive systems architecture and design across radio, baseband, MAC and networking layers for advanced applications used in different industry sectors.
Responsibilities
• Translate complex market, customer, and technical requirements into clear, actionable specifications, ensuring products and systems deliver market‑leading solutions.
• Collaborate closely with hardware, software, firmware and test teams to ensure design intent is implemented, verified and meets expectations.
• Uphold high quality standards in work, maintain self‑motivation and strong problem‑solving abilities.
Qualifications
- Excellent academic background with 10+ years of hands‑on experience in wireless systems design, architecture or systems engineering.
- Deep knowledge of wireless communication and networking technologies.
- Proficiency with Wi‑Fi standards, 4G/5G cellular standards, wireless systems algorithm design, layer 2/3 networks, radio propagation, link budgets and network management.
- Strong communication skills to explain complex technical ideas.
- Self‑motivated, self‑reliant, with strong problem‑solving abilities.
