Overview
We are seeking a qualified Finance Business Analyst to join our consultancy team and work within a client’s Finance Change function. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in finance transformation — acting as a bridge between business users and IT to ensure initiatives are aligned with business needs and implemented effectively. You will build and maintain relationships with stakeholders across the business, support the review of current processes, and use your findings to make recommendations about business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the delivery of Finance Business Analysis for assigned finance transformation projects, providing a high-quality service to project teams and business stakeholders.
- Collaborate with stakeholders at all levels — from executives to end-users — to gather and interpret business requirements and document processes accurately.
- Identify pain points, challenges, and opportunities for improvement within existing processes.
- Support finance transformation programmes, including the implementation of technical data into new systems and third-party system integrations.
- Evaluate existing processes, mapping out end-to-end workflows. Identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for enhancement.
- Support future‑state process mapping, proposing optimised solutions that align with business goals and drive efficiency.
- Support end-to-end system development, including development of initial concepts for system changes, drafting technical change specifications, maintaining the release timetable, and executing User Acceptance and Regression testing.
- Ensure customers are treated fairly at all times, in accordance with relevant conduct risk policies and procedures.
- Be aware of and adhere to all obligations under data protection regulations (GDPR or equivalent), and report breaches when they occur.
Requirements
Knowledge and Qualifications
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Insurance industry experience is a must.
- Technical Reporting Close experience.
Skills and Demonstrated Experience
- Experience in supporting projects within Finance, service, and differing business models (specifically Target Operating Models).
- Experience in using MS Visio and draw.io.
- Familiarity with multi‑level process mapping and supporting documentation.
- Experience in the application of financial accounting knowledge within insurance (UKGAAP, IFRS17).
- Strong insurance technical knowledge with practical application to systems and processes, with the ability to provide valuable insights and recommendations for improvement.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills — can demonstrate the ability to propose solutions and assess the impact of changes using data analytics to make informed recommendations.
- Strong MS Excel skills, competent and efficient at dealing with manipulating data from different sources.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
