How you’ll make a difference

As an Administrative Assistant, you will be working within the Travel Planning team, providing support to help them maximise the delivery, monitoring and promotion of active and sustainable travel across South Gloucestershire. 

What you will be doing

  • You will be the first point of contact for queries raised by residents and other organisations.
  • It will be your responsibility to provide administrative and secretarial support to the team, including taking minutes at meetings.
  • You will organise monthly mail shots and required travel information for distribution to local residents.
  • It will be key for you to support the team with active travel roadshows and on occasions attend these events during summer months.

What we need from you

  • We require you to hold a minimum qualification of 3 GCSE’s (grade 4 and above) or equivalent qualification, including English and maths.
  • You will have experience of working in a similar administrative role within the transport sector.
  • Given the elements of this role, you will have strong communication skills and be well organised.
  • It is essential that you are a confident user of information technology and have experience of the Microsoft Office suite (including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • You must have good numerical and attention to detail to seek out information, collate it and present findings.

What you need to know

  • This is for a limited term contract, ending 30th November 2027. 
  • We are also offering this as an internal secondment opportunity, you should first seek your line managers permission before applying. 
  • This role is hybrid, with a mixture of working at our office in Badminton Road, Yate and from home. 

 

Interviews will be held on 6th and 7th May 2026.
