We’re looking for a Mechanical & Electrical Shift Engineer who will deliver high‑quality reactive and planned maintenance across London contracts on a 24/7 shift rota, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant building services performance. Role Responsibilities Undertake mechanical and electrical works across a wide range of building services on reactive and planned maintenance tasks.Work as part of a shift team providing 24‑hour cover across London contracts, supporting mechanical and electrical services as required.Use diagnostic equipment, technical manuals, and engineering drawings to identify faults accurately.Identify visual plant defects, warning indicators, and system alarms to ensure timely corrective action.Maintain a strong understanding and competent maintenance capability across systems including: Power distribution and switchingMotor control systemsLighting systemsStandby generatorsElectrical testing and certificationControl systemsInverter operation and designFire alarm and PA systems Required QualificationsApplicants must meet the below defined requirements for the role. #EngGenAll Engineers Experience working within commercial properties and installations.Strong understanding of current Health & Safety legislation and safe working practices.Ability to prioritise workload effectively with a flexible approach to changing demands and working hours.Proactive, positive attitude with strong self‑motivation.Good knowledge of statutory building compliance requirements.Full UK driving licence.Ability to record work accurately on worksheets and computer‑based systems.Strong communication skills with the ability to work well in a team.Professional appearance with proper use of uniform and PPE.Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment under Health and Safety at Work Act .Provide excellent customer service and keep building occupants informed of job progress.Ability to complete tasks correctly on the first attempt within set timescales.
