Underwriter – Property Finance/ Asset Based Lending – Manchester or Leeds
Our client, one of the UK’s leading providers of Business Lending solutions within the SME market, is looking to hire an experienced Underwriter to join their expanding team in either Manchester or Leeds.
Key responsibilities:
- Support the Risk Director in ensuring the risk framework remains robust as the business grows.
- Underwrite new business propositions within your mandate.
- Act as the 1st underwriter / due diligence support for deals outside your mandate.
- Provide underwriting and credit risk awareness training across the business.
- Assist the Business Development team in structuring new proposals.
- Ensure new and existing facilities comply with credit policy and appetite.
- Share best practices, driving efficiencies and consistency across regions.
Key requirements:
- Experienced underwriter with a strong understanding of property-backed lending and preferably Asset Based Lending.
- Deal structuring experience with available asset base and secondary security.
- Ability to analyse and interpret financial statements.
- Experience in coaching and developing colleagues.
- Strong prioritisation and stakeholder management skills.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
