The Opportunity

An established healthcare-focused facilities management organisation operating across the South West is seeking aFire Safety Officerto support the delivery of robust, compliant fire safety arrangements across a complex operational estate.

This is a hands-on, specialist role providing professional fire safety advice, undertaking fire risk assessments, and supporting training and compliance activity within a regulated healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • UndertakeFire Risk Assessmentsacross owned and occupied premises in accordance with current fire safety legislation, Firecode andHTM 05 guidance.
  • Provide specialist fire safety advice to estates, facilities and operational teams.
  • Support compliance with theRegulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order, building regulations and healthcare fire safety standards.
  • Deliver and supportfire safety training, including fire warden, evacuation and site-specific training.
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of fire drills and evacuation exercises, maintaining accurate records in line withHTM 05-02requirements.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders and external bodies including Fire & Rescue Services, contractors and design teams.
  • Support fire safety input into maintenance and capital works, ensuring fire precautions are maintained during works.
  • Assist in the development, review and implementation of fire safety policies, procedures and local arrangements.

About You

You will have practical experience delivering fire safety services within alarge, complex or regulated environment, ideally healthcare or a similar setting.

Essential criteria:

  • HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline.
  • Professional registration with a recognised fire safety or fire engineering body.
  • NEBOSH, IOSH or equivalent health & safety qualification.
  • Experience undertaking Fire Risk Assessments within complex buildings.
  • Working knowledge ofHTM 05 guidanceand healthcare fire safety requirements.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders.

Desirable:

  • Experience delivering fire safety training. xwzovoh
