Focus: SAP S/4 RISE Migration & Data Quality Architecture
The Mission
Booking.com’s Trips division is undergoing a major business modernization, migrating our Transport (BTL) SAP instance to a cloud-based SAP S/4 RISE ecosystem. We need a heavyweight Senior Data Manager to drive data quality, governance, and accountability across this migration.
This is a high-seniority role for someone who operates with minimal supervision and can navigate the “messy” intersection of Finance, Tax compliance, and Partner Master Data.
Responsibilities
- “Shift-Left” Strategy: Move data requirements as far left as possible in the migration lifecycle to prevent downstream failures.
- Fixing the Pain Points: Address critical data quality issues in the Finance domain, specifically around Location Data (Tax/Compliance) and Partner Master Data.
- Stakeholder Influence: Drive accountability for data quality across senior leadership; you aren’t just reporting issues, you are pitching solutions.
- Tooling Modernization: Help trial and integrate Collibra (DQ module) and Monte Carlo into our AWS-based tech stack.
- Risk & Compliance: Manage the end-to-end data lifecycle, ensuring all migration activities meet our rigorous privacy and security standards.
The Ideal Profile
- Essential: Data management, Data Governance and Data Quality
- Financial Services (FS) Pedigree: You likely come from a Banking, Fintech, or highly regulated FS background where data accuracy is non-negotiable.
- Governance & Quality Mastery: Deep experience in Data Governance, MDM, and Root Cause Analysis.
- SAP Awareness: You don’t need to be a developer, but you must understand SAP infrastructure and how data flows through an ERP ecosystem.
- The “Influence” Factor: Expert communication skills—you know how to pitch a technical “ask” to a VP and a “requirement” to a Data Engineer.
- Self-Starter: You need to be someone who can assess the landscape and start delivering in week one.
