Who We’re Looking For

Our people are united by a common belief: that we can outperform in everything we do.

The Test Engineer plays a key role in improving the overall quality, reliability, and consistency of outputs produced by the Data Engineering teams. This role delivers structured, proactive testing that increases delivery confidence, enhances product stability, and allows engineers to focus on higher‑value build activities. The role also partners closely with Development leads and Business Analysts to support test planning, scenario development and early validation, ensuring requirements are fully understood and exercised before reaching engineering teams.

What is the overall job?

Responsibilities

  • Partnering with Dev leads and BAs on structured testing, supporting test planning, scenario creation, execution and early validation of requirements to ensure clarity and reduce rework later in the lifecycle.
  • Execute end to end functional and integration testing across apps, Dataverse, SharePoint, APIs and ADF/Databricks/Fabric pipelines—verifying business logic, data accuracy, workflow behaviour and cross system consistency.
  • Run regression and business simulation testing to confirm that enhancements are stable, predictable and aligned with real world operational usage across applications, workflows and datasets.
  • Lead impact assessments for all changes, ensuring dependencies, risks and downstream considerations are clearly identified and communicated to BAs and engineering leads.
  • Perform performance and load testing across applications, SharePoint interactions and high volume data processing layers to support scalable, resilient product delivery.

What do you need to be successful in this role?

  • Strong SQL skills for data validation and defect investigation, with the ability to troubleshoot issues effectively.
  • Experience testing across PowerApps, Dataverse, SharePoint, APIs and platform workflows.
  • Experience validating ADF pipelines, Databricks notebooks, Fabric datasets and reporting outputs.
  • Ability to design test cases, structure test cycles and work with BAs to organise and execute test scenarios.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to articulate issues clearly and concisely.

A Note On Diversity

Diversity is about celebrating the ways we are all different and appreciating the unique qualities that every employee brings. We invite applications from people of all genders, cultures and walks of life. Research shows that women and people from underrepresented groups are less likely to apply for roles if they don’t meet every qualification. So even if you don’t match all the criteria – if you are passionate about helping to construct a better future, we’d love to hear from you.

We are committed to providing a barrier‑free work environment and can support with reasonable adjustments at any stage of the recruitment process. Simply inform our Talent Acquisition team during your conversation with them.
