Job Description:

We are looking for a skilled engineer to join our team in Alnwick. As a Service Engineer with Scot JCB you will visit a variety of customer sites throughout the area to carry out maintenance, repairs and services on our customers machines to a high standard. This is a fantastic opportunity to utilise and develop your engineering skills in a varied and interesting role.

Responsibilities

  • Repair and maintain machines on customers sites to meet manufacturer’s specifications.
  • Attend breakdowns, perform fault finding and repair on machines.
  • Accurately complete all relevant paperwork daily.
  • Submit daily timesheets and job cards.
  • Order parts accurately and work closely with the parts department.
  • Collaborate closely with the service supervisor.
  • Train and mentor apprentice engineers.
  • Carry out inspections and repairs of machines at the depot in accordance with manufacturer’s specifications and applicable regulations.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Relevant qualifications such as City & Guilds, NVQ or SVQ in Construction Plant, HGV, Light Vehicle, etc. (essential).
  • Experience in construction plant, diesel engines, electrics, hydraulics, transmissions and fault finding using electronic diagnostic equipment.
  • Strong prioritisation skills to work effectively in a busy environment.
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to build rapport with our customers.
  • Good IT skills.
  • Flexible, positive, and outgoing approach to work.
