Security Consultant

Job Description

We are supporting our Edinburgh based client with a new Security Consultant contract position. You will be working on a major transformation programme supporting the delivery of an end‑to‑end security evaluation project. This role will be an initial 6 month contract with 1 day per week in the Edinburgh office and will be INSIDE IR35.

Responsibilities

• Design options for delivering future end‑to‑end security evaluations.
• Run a short proof of concept tests.
• Create a detailed implementation plan.
• Stakeholder management with engineering, security, and programme teams.
• Write documentation.
• Support workshops and working sessions with technical and non‑technical teams.
• Provide knowledge on security assessments and security evaluation methods.

Essential Skills

• Strong security architecture or design background.
• Experience conducting risk assessments.
• Familiarity with industry standards such as CIS, NIST, and ISF SOGP.
• Understanding of cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, and GCP.

Additional Skills & Qualifications (non‑essential)

• CISSP certification.
• CISM certification.
• CCSK certification.
