As a Health, Safety & Security Manager you will be responsible for Security, Health & Safety and Crisis Management by taking a proactive approach to these areas for the Intercontinental London – The O2 and The Arora tower to ensure legal, company and brand compliance, implementation of security/ Health and Safety policies, protocols, and training to make sure that the environment in the organisation is safe for our employees, guests and visitors.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day management of the Security Department, supporting all departments at InterContinental London – The O2.
- Protect company assets against theft, fire, assault and other risks, keeping senior management informed of any incidents or threats.
- Complete detailed incident reports, conduct investigations, gather evidence and maintain accurate security logs.
- Lead hazard spotting, manage the Safety Management System (Diligence), and ensure all health and safety documentation is current and compliant.
- Guide and approve departmental risk assessments, audits and safety inspections, following up on remedial actions.
- Chair Safety Committee meetings (if appointed) and coordinate annual reviews of Health & Safety, Fire Safety, and Crisis & Emergency Plans.
- Manage cash handling procedures, key control systems, security equipment, and lost property processes.
- Respond to emergencies in line with hotel procedures, ensuring familiarity with fire safety, first aid equipment and evacuation plans.
- Deliver Health & Safety inductions and statutory training, including fire awareness and fire party training, for managers and staff.
- Maintain high standards of customer service, confidentiality, legal compliance, and knowledge of hotel policies, facilities and operational procedures.
