Position Overview
An exciting opportunity to cover a 12‑month maternity leave within the Darlington Crisis Resolution and Intensive Home Treatment Team at West Park Hospital. The team operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on a 12‑hour shift pattern.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical leadership for junior team members, prioritising workload and utilising resources to meet service user needs.
- Gate‑keep admissions to acute wards, ensuring appropriate triage.
- Work independently across the Darlington locality, travelling as required.
- Respond to crisis situations and deliver intensive home treatment, maintaining detailed assessment and written reports.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, receiving regular supervision and engaging in training opportunities.
Qualifications & Experience
- Band 6 clinical role open to registered nurses, occupational therapists and social workers registered with the NMC, HCPC or SWE.
- Registered nurses must have 18 months post‑qualifying experience with completion of a competency framework or preceptorship.
- Demonstrated ability to act on own initiative, with strong assessment and written communication skills.
- Valid driving licence and access to a suitable vehicle; willingness to travel independently.
Other Requirements
- Compliance with the Equality Act 2010 – adjustments can be considered for suitable candidates.
- Right to work in the UK. Candidates requiring sponsorship will be assessed for the Health and Care Worker or Skilled Worker visa routes, subject to eligibility.
