Overview
The Department of Education is looking to appoint a Researcher and Project Manager to join an NIHR funded study evaluating early identification and intervention for children with Speech Language and Communication Needs delivered by Health Visiting teams across England. This study is led by Professor Cristina McKean, University of Oxford, and Professor Lindsay Pennington, Newcastle University, with colleagues from Northumbria University and the Institute of Health Visiting. The postholder will work with the Principal Investigator across several national and international studies in the field of Speech Language and Communication Needs and SEND.
Responsibilities
- Ensure timely ethical approvals, HRA, and legal compliance.
- Manage project timelines, data storage and access, and support processes relating to financial management.
- Work with the project administrator to support activities such as organising project meetings, agendas and minutes; liaising with HV teams; supporting data management; and supporting PPI activity.
- Support day‑to‑day coordination of the study across work packages, survey dissemination and maintain relationships with PPI members.
- Work closely with the research team from the University of Oxford, Newcastle University, Northumbria University, and the Institute of Health Visiting.
Qualifications
- Hold a first degree with some relevant experience.
- Possess sufficient specialist knowledge in child language development and/or interventions supporting children’s health, development and educational outcomes.
- Be able to manage own research and administrative activities within provided guidelines.
- Have excellent team working and communication skills.
