Business Development Manager – Electrical Sector (West Midlands & Gloucester)
£40K – £50K (negotiable, DOE) OTE including basic salary, bonus, company car, pension, health insurance, Critical Illness cover and Life Assurance benefits.

As a Business Development Manager you will work remotely from a home base, planning your diary and customer visits within your defined territory. Your responsibilities include identifying opportunities to promote and sell a full range of electrical, lighting, power distribution, factory automation and process automation solutions across a variety of industries. You will leverage our extensive supplier catalogue, support from marketing, and technical training to engage decision‑makers and develop new business. Reporting to the local Regional Sales Manager, you will build and maintain strong client relationships and use the provided customer database to drive sales.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new sales opportunities within the electrical sector.
- Plan and execute customer visits and maintain an effective sales diary.
- Engage with decision‑makers to build long‑term relationships.
- Utilise the company’s supplier product range to meet client requirements.
- Leverage marketing support and technical training for effective selling.
Qualifications & Attributes
- Demonstrable sales career history and success in industrial electrical markets.
- Strong time‑management, organisational and communication skills (verbal & written).
- Self‑motivated, driven, and a “can‑do” attitude.
- Commercial and technical ability with knowledge of industrial electrical, control & automation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365.
- Customer‑focused mindset.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Eligibility to work in the UK (no sponsorship)
Location
Based in the West Midlands & Gloucester area. Candidates based in Telford, Dudley, Wolverhampton, Birmingham, Worcester, Stourbridge, Kidderminster, Cheltenham (or other locations with good road access) are considered.
