About the role
The Market Intelligence Officer supports the Council’s ability to understand, shape, and respond to the adult social care market. The team works across commissioning, contracts and Market Shaping to help build a clear picture of service performance, market capacity, quality and financial trends, ensuring decisions have robust evidence and insight.
The role has a direct organisational impact. By improving data quality, strengthening market intelligence, and supporting benefit tracking and financial insight, the Market Intelligence Officer enables better planning, improved value for money, and more resilient markets.
Your work will help the organisation to respond proactively to market pressures, target improvement activity, and ensure adult social care services are sustainable, responsive, and aligned to statutory duties and local priorities.

About you
You will have previous experience of the creation of dashboards and data reports to support insight and analysis, of supporting delivery of projects and commissioning activities, working with others to deliver shared objectives, experience in data gathering, analysis and benchmarking to produce insights and of monitoring progress, performance and benefit realisation.
You will be able to demonstrate experience of contributing to pricing reviews, financial checks or performance monitoring, of working with contract lifecycle processes under supervision, ensuring compliance and in preparing and maintaining data, documentation, reports, and compliance records.
You will also have a proven ability to identify and deliver improvement, efficiency, or transformation opportunities through supplier relationship management.
