Our Technology, Digital and Data (TDD) function plays a critical role in enabling this mission – building and maintaining secure, scalable, and high‑quality technology capabilities that support the Fund’s global investment operations.
The UK / US TDD team partners closely with Investment and Investment Operations stakeholders across Australia, the UK, and the US, delivering globally aligned, resilient technology platforms that enable the Fund’s investment strategy.
We’re now looking for a Solution Architect – Investment Platforms to join our team, providing technical leadership and solution design expertise across critical investment technology initiatives.
The Opportunity
This is a senior technical leadership role within a complex, highly regulated, global technology environment. As a Solution Architect, you’ll be accountable for designing end‑to‑end solution architectures that are secure, scalable, and aligned to enterprise standards – supporting both strategic change and ongoing platform evolution.
You’ll work closely with engineers, delivery teams, architects, vendors, and Investment stakeholders to translate business needs into high‑quality technology solutions that deliver real value for the Fund and its members.
In this role, you will:
- Design and deliver high‑quality solution architectures and high‑level designs for investment technology platforms
- Ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture standards, principles, roadmaps, and the Fund’s strategic objectives
- Partner closely with Investment, Investment Operations, and Technology stakeholders to ensure expected business outcomes are achieved
- Provide technical leadership across the full solution lifecycle—from concept and design through to delivery and operationalisation
- Support delivery teams by maintaining technical oversight and helping resolve complex design and implementation challenges
- Collaborate with global architecture teams to define, reuse, and evolve architecture patterns
- Present solution designs at relevant governance forums and support architectural decision‑making
- Guide engineers and third‑party partners to deliver secure, scalable, and high‑performing solutions
- Ensure solutions are resilient, reusable, and fit for purpose across front, middle, and back‑office investment processes
- Embed best practices across documentation, peer review, quality assurance, and testing alignment
- Contribute to continuous improvement of architecture practices, tooling, and delivery capability
- Support strong governance, risk management, and compliance across all solution designs
What You’ll Bring
You’re an experienced Solution Architect who enjoys working at the intersection of technology, investment, and business outcomes in complex environments.
To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:
- Significant experience in solution architecture and technical design within financial services or wealth management
- Strong understanding of front, middle, and back‑office investment processes
- Proven experience designing enterprise‑scale application and integration architectures
- Experience working with investment platforms such as portfolio management, execution management, and investment data systems
- Strong knowledge of modern data platforms, integration patterns, and cloud technologies (preferably Azure)
- Experience designing secure, scalable, and high‑performing systems in regulated environments
- Hands‑on understanding of DevOps, CI/CD practices, and Agile delivery models
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making capability
- Experience operating in global, matrixed, and hybrid insourced/outsourced environments
- A collaborative mindset, curiosity for emerging technologies, and commitment to continuous learning
Desirable experience includes
- Exposure to platforms such as Aladdin, Calypso, Bloomberg EMS, FXAll, TradeWeb, Finbourne, GoldenSource, or Eagle
- TOGAF or equivalent architecture certification
- Experience with Azure PaaS, APIs, data platforms, and modern integration architectures
- Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline
