About the Role
The Finance Director will lead and oversee the full finance function across SAV Group, including Funds and multiple project-level SPVs. The role combines financial control with strategic oversight, acting as a core partner to the senior management team, investors, and lenders.
This is a senior, high-impact position covering accounting, corporate finance, fund finance, project finance, reporting, and compliance within a private equity real estate investment, development, and operating platform.
The Finance Director will manage a high-performing finance team of five professionals and oversee the finance function across approximately seven active projects.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Team Management
- Lead, develop, and mentor the accounting and finance team, fostering a high-performance, collaborative culture
- Take ownership of the finance function, setting clear priorities and responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain finance operating frameworks, processes, and controls
- Maintain oversight of accurate bookkeeping, transaction records and reconciliations
- Overall financial control for the SAV Group corporate entities, projects, and Funds
- Oversight of all banking relationships and facilities
Accounts Payable, Receivable & Payroll
- Oversee invoicing, tenant rent collection, payroll, staff expenses, and supplier payments
- Set up and ongoing management of pension schemes
Project Finance & Cost Control
- Partner with development and project teams on cost control, cash flow forecasting, and funding drawdowns
- Coordinate lender drawdowns and reporting in conjunction with Project Managers and contractors
- Provide financial insight at the project level to support delivery and investment performance
Fund Management & Investor Relations
- Lead the preparation and delivery of investor communications and Funds updates
- Manage equity drawdowns and distributions in line with fund and JV documentation
- Coordinate and manage fund and SPV audits
- Ownership of investor onboarding processes and KYC
- Oversight of FCA regulatory compliance
- Own the month-end close process and ensure timely, high-quality financial information
- Oversee the preparation of statutory accounts in line with UK reporting standards
- Ensure compliance with UK tax and regulatory obligations, including VAT
- Manage lender reporting, covenant monitoring, and debt-related disclosures
Qualifications & Experience

A wide range of finance experience will be considered, including investment banking, private equity, accounting, audit, bank risk departments, real estate funds, REITs, and the Big Four.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, Engineering, or another quantitative or related discipline
- A recognised accounting or finance qualification (e.g. CA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CFA) is advantageous but not essential
- An MBA is also welcome
Knowledge & Skills
- Advanced proficiency in Excel
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with a rigorous attention to detail
- Strong knowledge of UK accounting principles and financial reporting standards
- Organisational and people management skills
- Robust understanding of financial fundamentals, with the capability to interpret and analyse complex financial data
- Strong work ethic
- Team-oriented, with the ability to operate effectively in a dynamic, hands‑on environment
- Fundraising experience is advantageous
- Competitive salary of £130,000 – £160,000 per annum, dependent on experience and qualifications
