About the Role
In this newly created role, the incoming FP&A Business Partner will enjoy a varied remit, driving cost efficiencies across the Bank as we continue our growth trajectory. The incumbent will provide business partner support on costs across various business areas, and assist in the preparation of the Bank’s corporate and financial plans and forecasts. Our ideal candidate will be adept at partnering with multiple senior stakeholders including those at Executive level, in addition to the broader Finance function.
Key Responsibilities
- Partnering, producing & presenting key monthly / Bi-Monthly cost performance vs Corporate Plan for relevant cost centres. Key deliverable is to ensure Executive stakeholders & Cost Centre managers understand progress vs Corporate Plan objectives / targets and partner on cost planning and understanding the trajectory of the cost forecasting vs Plan.
- Work with the Senior Business Partner to provide well‑structured and impactful Bankwide Cost Analysis vs Budget and Forecasting of expenses for CFO / C‑Suite.
- Supporting the Senior Business Partner in the detailed timely preparation and planning of the Corporate and Financial Plans to include the costs and headcount per the Board and Executive Management requirements.
- Support on Business Change projects, forecasting and actual spend on capex and opex.
- Ongoing management of cost & headcount planning and rolling forecast models in partnership with HR.
- Key liaison with Finance operations and reporting teams on cost actuals and budgets supporting with the cost month end processes, reporting and variance analysis.
- Assisting in financial modelling and detailed analysis across the Bank’s cost base and resourcing for business lines and support functions providing analysis and forecasting.
- Being a link between Finance and the business lines and support functions to give cost and headcount analysis, insight, and assistance.
- Focus on continuous improvement and being able to use the system technology to our advantage by automating processes / inputs / outputs wherever possible.
- Become highly skilled in Adaptive Insights financial planning software tool and become an SME that can maintain and develop forecasts, MI outputs and support budgeting managers / GEC stakeholders in using / viewing the system.
- Work closely with the Senior Cost BP and FP&A modelling manager to understand, build, operate, update and develop reporting in Adaptive Insights.
- Develop wider knowledge of FP&A processes, deliverables and build knowledge from ad‑hoc tasks and supporting with regular reporting.
Required Skills And Experience
- Finance Business partnering experience, preferably within Costs.
- Previous experience / knowledge of accounting, management accounting and variance analysis, with a focus on cost planning, modelling.
- Demonstrable experience operating in financial services.
- Existing understanding of data flows / data extraction & manipulation e.g. comfortable interrogating & understanding GL systems & postings, leveraging data warehouse reporting / Tableau / Power BI / Power Query etc.
- Accountancy qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or equivalent.
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
- Self‑starter with the ability to problem solve, question & challenge.
- Commitment to high standards and meeting deadlines.
