We’re looking for a Senior People Business Partner to join HydraB, based onsite in Central Oxford, five days per week.
About HydraB
HydraB is a group of businesses focused on accelerating the transition to net zero through a connected power ecosystem.
Across the group, we operate in areas including hydrogen, transport, energy infrastructure and clean technology. With multiple operating companies, the environment is varied and often complex, giving you exposure to different teams, challenges and ways of working.
The role
This is a senior, hands‑on role partnering with business leaders across HydraB Group companies. You’ll act as a trusted advisor, supporting organisational effectiveness, building manager capability and bringing more consistency to how we approach people across the group.
You’ll be working in an environment where processes exist but are still evolving, so this role suits someone who is comfortable operating with pace, ambiguity and influence.
What you’ll be doing
- Acting as the primary People partner to senior leaders, advising on organisational design, workforce planning and change
- Translating business priorities into clear, practical people plans
- Leading performance cycles and supporting talent and succession planning
- Handling complex ER matters (disciplinaries, grievances, redundancies)
- Driving consistency and improvements in people processes across group entities
- Using data and insight to support decision‑making and challenge where needed
- Partnering with Reward and Talent Acquisition on senior hiring and compensation decisions
What we’re looking for
- Significant People / HR Business Partnering experience (ideally 10+ years)
- Strong track record of advising senior stakeholders and handling complex ER
- Experience operating in a multi‑entity or evolving environment
- Commercial mindset with the ability to balance strategy and delivery
- Confident working independently and driving outcomes
- Strong understanding of UK employment law
What you’ll get from the role
- Direct exposure to senior leadership and decision‑making
- Opportunity to shape and improve how people practices operate across multiple businesses
- Ownership of meaningful people initiatives, not just delivery
- A varied role covering both strategic and operational People activity
Benefits include:
- 25 days holiday + bank holidays
- Private Medical Insurance (BUPA)
- Discretionary bonus
- Pension (matched up to 8%)
- 2x salary Life Assurance
- Income Protection (70% salary after 13 weeks)
- Employee Assistance Programme
- Electric car scheme & cycle to work
- Option to buy/sell up to 5 days leave
- Retail and lifestyle discounts
This role would suit someone who is comfortable operating at pace, enjoys influencing senior stakeholders, and wants to play a key role in shaping people practices across a multi‑entity environment.
HydraB is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applications from all backgrounds.
