The Opportunity
We are looking for a Software Engineer (Full-Stack / AI Systems) to join our team in Portsmouth.
As a full-stack engineer, you will work on real-world applications, APIs, and scalable systems that go into production quickly. You will collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to design and deliver solutions that solve real business problems.
This role offers the opportunity to take ownership, contribute to architecture decisions, and work on systems that directly impact performance and growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain high-performance, scalable, and secure applications
- Develop modern web applications using Next.js, React.js, Node.js, and TypeScript
- Build responsive and dynamic user interfaces using React, Virtual DOM, and modern front-end practices
- Manage application state using Redux, Context API, or other state management libraries
- Build and maintain APIs and backend services for internal and external integrations
- Design, optimize, and manage PostgreSQL databases for performance and scalability
- Take full ownership of features from concept, development, testing, to deployment
- Collaborate closely with engineers, designers, and product teams
- Maintain clean, reusable code and follow best engineering practices and standards
- Contribute to cloud-based systems and deployments (AWS / Azure)
- Debug, troubleshoot, and continuously optimize system performance and reliability
This role will be a great fit if you
- Have 4+ years of experience as a Software Engineer or Full-Stack Developer
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript, Next.js, React.js, and Node.js
- Ability to design and build scalable, high-performance backend systems and APIs
- Solid experience with PostgreSQL or other relational databases, including performance optimization
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS or Azure) and modern deployment practices
- Basic knowledge of Python (experience in AI, automation, or scripting is a plus)
- Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), system design, and software architecture principles
- Experience working in Agile environments, including collaboration, version control (Git)
- Familiarity with state management (Redux / Context API) and modern frontend architecture
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills
Nice to have
- Experience with AI, Machine Learning, or automation systems
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Experience building SaaS or scalable platforms
- Knowledge of system performance and security best practices
