Beyond Procurement acts as an outsourced sustainability team for growing businesses.

We help companies meet increasing client and tender requirements around carbon, ESG, and supply chain sustainability — without needing to hire internally.

Our clients are typically in construction, FM, and professional services, where sustainability is quickly becoming a commercial requirement.

The Opportunity

We are at a growth stage and are looking for a Business Development Manager to take ownership of pipeline generation and referral network.

This is not a typical high-volume sales role.

Success in this position comes from:

  • Building relationships
  • Opening doors into the right organisations
  • Positioning our services with relevance and credibility

You will work directly with the founder and play a key role in scaling the business.

What You’ll Be Doing

1. Pipeline Generation (Primary Focus)

  • Identify and engage companies under client or tender pressure to provide sustainability data
  • Generate qualified opportunities through targeted outreach and relationship building
  • Book and run initial meetings

2. Referral Development

  • Build relationships with:
  • Consultants
  • Industry contacts
  • Create a steady flow of warm introductions and opportunities
  • Lead early-stage conversations and qualify opportunities
  • Work with the founder to close deals
  • Maintain and manage pipeline in CRM

4. Strategic Input

  • Help shape outreach strategy and messaging
  • Provide feedback on market positioning and opportunities

What We’re Looking For

Experience

  • Proven experience in B2B business development or sales
  • Ideally from one of the following:
  • Construction / Facilities Management
  • Consultancy / Professional Services
  • Sustainability / ESG (not essential)

Key Skills

  • Strong relationship-building ability
  • Confident opening conversations with senior stakeholders
  • Able to sell services that are not always an immediate priority
  • Commercially aware and target-driven

Mindset

  • Proactive and self-sufficient
  • Comfortable building a pipeline from scratch
  • Consultative rather than pushy
  • Focused on long-term value, not quick wins

What Success Looks Like

  • 30 days: Building pipeline and booking meetings
  • 60 days: Running consistent meetings and progressing opportunities
  • 90 days: Closing deals (with support if needed)
  • 6 months: Generating consistent revenue and contributing to business growth
