We are working with a Japanese investment group focused on acquiring and scaling UK-based trading, distribution, and industrial businesses. The firm takes a hands‑on approach, partnering with existing management teams and leveraging international networks and operational synergies to drive growth.

About the Role

They are looking to hire an M&A professional with a strong commercial mindset and proven experience executing transactions in the UK mid‑market.

Responsibilities

• Source and evaluate acquisition opportunities across trading, import/export, distribution, and industrial sectors
• Lead end-to-end M&A processes, including valuation, due diligence, structuring, and execution
• Work closely with business owners and management teams to assess strategic fit and growth potential
• Support negotiations and deal structuring, with a focus on risk mitigation and long‑term value creation
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and international partners, including Japanese investors

Qualifications

• 5–12 years of experience in M&A, corporate finance, or investment roles

Required Skills

• Strong track record of closing UK-based transactions (ideally £10m–£150m EV)
• Experience working with owner‑managed businesses and mid‑market companies
• Exposure to trading, distribution, manufacturing, or import/export sectors preferred
