Job Overview
The Specification Manager will be responsible for managing and growing some of CFS’s most strategically important accounts. This role blends technical specification work, early design engagement, commercial development and account management, requiring a candidate who understands the UK precast & masonry industry in depth and can hit the ground running.
The role involves working closely with precast manufacturers, engineers, architects and design teams to secure early-stage specification, influence product selection, provide technical guidance, and drive revenue growth across CFS’s product portfolio.

- Strong relationship builder with credibility in front of engineers and technical stakeholders.
- Flexible team player with a willingness to support the wider commercial ecosystem.
- High attention to detail and pride in producing accurate technical work.
- A full, clean UK driving licence is required.
- AutoCAD, Revit and BIM knowledge & experience is ideal.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 3+ years’ experience in the precast, masonry, structural or wider construction industry.
- Proven knowledge of precast systems, Masonry supports, fixings, cast-in channels, or other relevant products.
- Experience in a technical commercial or specification facing role (design, engineering, technical sales, or project management).
- Existing relationships with relevant customers/design teams (highly advantageous).
- Ability to read and interpret structural, architectural, and precast drawings.
- High level of organisational and prioritisation ability.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Target Key Stakeholders: Engage with Architects, Engineers, and Technical Teams within Developers and Housing Associations to ensure CFS systems are specified on upcoming projects.
- Conduct high-level, one to one meetings in professional environments to present technical solutions.
- Influence the design phase so that CFS solutions are selected and detailed within formal construction drawings.
- Identify new business opportunities by monitoring planning leads, target lists, and construction intelligence services as well as relationships that have been built over time.
- Collaborate with the Design Manager and internal teams to ensure CFS remains the preferred technical and commercial choice for clients.
- Provide technical details to allow the internal design team to understand project requirements.
- Deliver a comprehensive CPD programme to place CFS expertise at the heart of relevant project opportunities.
- Maintain accurate and up-to date records of all projects and interactions within the company CRM system.
- Attend relevant trade events, CPD seminars, and networking opportunities, which may include evening work and overnight stays.
- Strong commercial awareness and the ability to challenge competition effectively.
- Oversee project schedules and customer progress in conjunction with the internal project coordination team.
