Automation Engineer Northampton £50,000 – £60,000 + bonus & allowances Permanent- FMCG

TXM Recruit have fantastic opportunity for an engineer experienced in electrical or PLC disciplines to join this company as a Control Systems Engineer on a permanent basis.

For this Automation Engineer position, we are looking someone with a background in high volume and fast paced production lines, such as FMCG or packaging, coupled with skills within programming, updating and fault finding within PLC, SCADA and HMI software.

Duties and responsibilities

Program, update, and fault find within PLC, SCADA, and HMI.

Develop applications for controls, instruments, and systems for industrial uses including motors and conveyance systems.

Direct and coordinate operation, maintenance and repair of equipment and systems in field installations

Participate in team project meetings, track project schedules, project budgets, responsibilities of work, total team change updates and coordinate with contractors.

Travel both in the UK and globally, ranging from 30-40% of the year, typically in 2-week blocks.

Automation Engineer- Skills and experience

BTEC Level 3 in general engineering or equivalent is required.

Certifications in networking and database management preferred.

Rockwell and/or Siemens experience.

Process knowledge of P&ID’s is strongly preferred.

Strong mechanical aptitude and hands on experience is preferred.
