Assistant Project Manager

  • Annual Salary: £40,000 – £45,000
  • Location: Warlingham, Surrey

We are seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join a great client of ours that supports within the leisure and hospitality sector. This role is ideal for individuals transitioning from a trade or site-based background to an office-based project management career. The successful candidate will benefit from structured training, clear progression paths, and hands-on exposure to live projects.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Work closely with senior Project Managers to ensure the successful delivery of projects.
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of refurbishment and maintenance projects.
  • Conduct site visits, surveys, and progress inspections to ensure projects are on track.
  • Support cost control, procurement activities, and coordination of subcontractors.
  • Help prepare and monitor project programmes and schedules.
  • Attend site and progress meetings to monitor performance and resolve issues.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, company policies, and quality standards.
  • Manage variations, project documentation, and reporting requirements effectively.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Relevant industry experience in a site-based or trade role (e.g., Site Manager, Assistant Site Manager, Qualified Tradesperson).
  • Essential certifications: SSSTS or SMSTS.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Full, clean UK driving licence.
  • Ability to commute daily to the office in Warlingham, Surrey.
  • A long-term career mindset with ambition to progress into a Project Manager role.
