Mental Health Social Worker – Adult Services
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Locum Mental Health Social Worker to join Adult Services in Calderdale.
We are seeking a confident and knowledgeable practitioner with strong mental health experience, particularly in relation to Section 117 aftercare responsibilities, to support individuals with complex needs within a multi-disciplinary environment.

Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality statutory social work interventions within Mental Health Services
- Undertake assessments and care planning in line with relevant legislation
- Manage and coordinate Section 117 aftercare duties
- Work collaboratively with health colleagues and partner agencies
- Support individuals with complex mental health needs
- Contribute to safeguarding and risk management processes
- Maintain accurate, timely, and high-quality case records
To be considered for the role, ideally you will have:
- Qualified Social Worker with a recognised Social Work qualification
- Social Work England (SWE) registration
- Significant experience within Adult Mental Health Services
- Demonstrable Section 117 experience (essential)
- Strong knowledge of the Mental Health Act, Care Act, and Mental Capacity Act
- Excellent assessment and analytical skills
- Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team
