JobSummary
You will take overallresponsibility for organising all mechanical work and schedulingmechanical maintenance both on the surface andunderground.
Thepost requires compliance with the following external standards,statutes and regulations, although others may and willapply:
– Health andsafety at work act 1974.
– Compliance with COSHH,PUWER, RIDDOR, etc.
– The Mines Regulations2014.
– Bow Tie RiskAssessments.
– Understanding and knowledge ofSMIM and recent changes in shaft and windingsafety.
– Building managementsystems.
KeyResponsibilities
– Create andimprove mechanical systems, machinery anddevices.
– Evaluate performance, safety andreliability of machinery and components.
–Identify mechanical failures, perform root cause analysis andimplement repairs or preventative maintenance programs to ensurecontinuous operation.
– Develop projectspecifications, manage timelines, budgets and resources andco-ordinate with multi-disciplinary teams including craftsmen,suppliers and other engineers.
– Design andimplement cost-effective equipment modifications to improve safetyand reliability.
– Prepare technical reports,documentation and presentations for management, clients orregulatory bodies.
– Ensure all mechanicalsystems comply with safety standards, regulations and industry bestpractice.
– Improve energy efficiency, reducewaste and optimise mechanical designs.
– Monitorand commission plant and systems.
– Managepeople, projects andresources.
