We’re looking for a sales professionalwith a focus on phone-based sales to join our team at LOCALiQ, partof Newsquest Media Group. You’ll be representing the region’s lifemagazines and offering innovative advertising solutions that helpbusinesses grow and thrive, as part of the Devon Lifepublication.

This isa consultative, telephone-based sales role where you’ll be speakingdirectly with business owners and decision-makers across thecounty. You’ll take the time to understand their goals andrecommend tailored advertising strategies from our digital displayand print portfolio. Every conversation is a chance to buildrapport, solve problems, and deliver solutions that make a realimpact.

To beconsidered for this role, you must be based within commutingdistance of the office for a hybrid role in either our Taunton orExeter offices and available to work Monday to Friday during officehours.

A backgroundin selling advertising is advantageous but notessential. 

KeyResponsibilities

  • Identifyand win new business by proactively reachingout to potential clients across your region using cold calling andoutbound salestechniques. 
  • Work to clearfinancial targets and KPIs , consistently striving toexceed monthly revenue goals and performancebenchmarks
  • Manage and growexisting client accounts , providing ongoing support,identifying upsell opportunities, and increasing client spendthrough strategicrecommendations
  • Develop andmanage a robust sales pipeline , using a consultativeapproach to move prospects through the salescycle
  • Build long-termrelationships with clients by providing expertadvice, excellent service, and ongoingsupport
  • Collaborate with internalteams to ensure smooth onboarding and campaigndelivery for new clients
  • Stayinformed on industry trends, competitoractivity, and LOCALiQ’s evolving product suite to maintain acompetitive edge
  • RepresentLOCALiQ with professionalism and credibility , actingas a trusted ambassador for our regional newsbrands

Skills,Knowledge andExpertise

  • Strongcommunication and influencing skills – You’reconfident speaking with business owners and decision-makers, ableto build rapport quickly and guide conversations toward meaningfuloutcomes.
  • Experience in outboundcalling – You’re comfortable picking up thephone, starting conversations, and creating opportunities throughproactive outreach.
  • Confident insecuring new business over the phone – You knowhow to ask the right questions, handle objections, and close dealswith professionalism andenergy.
  • Able to grow and nurtureexisting client accounts – You understand thevalue of long-term relationships and can spot opportunities to addvalue and increase clientspend.
  • Delivers exceptionalcustomer service – You’re committed toproviding a seamless, supportive experience for every client, everytime.
  • A consultative,client-focused approach to selling – Youlisten, learn, and tailor your recommendations to meet eachclient’s unique goals.
  • Proven B2Bsales experience (advantageous)– If you’vesold to businesses before, great, but we also welcome candidateswith limited sales exposure who bring a strong work ethic, awillingness to learn, and a genuine drive tosucceed.
  • Understanding ofmultimedia advertising (advantageous)–Familiarity with digital and print advertising is a plus, but notessential—we’ll provide training to get you up tospeed.
  • Able to commute to theoffice – You’re based within reach of theoffice and happy to be part of a collaborative, hybridteam.
