Building Maintenance Technician | Residential & Mixed-Use Sites | Permanent | CF10, Cardiff | Salary up to £33k
Our partner is looking for a Maintenance Technician to join their on-site operations team, supporting the day-to-day upkeep of a residential and mixed-use environment. This role is responsible for delivering a wide range of maintenance and repair activities across apartments, communal areas and shared facilities, ensuring the site is safe, functional and presented to a high standard.
You’ll be a visible and approachable presence for residents. You’ll handle maintenance requests professionally, communicate clearly and help contribute to a positive living experience through reliable service and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to and resolve maintenance requests raised by residents and site teams.
- Investigate maintenance issues, identify root causes and carry out effective repairs.
- Undertake routine checks and general upkeep across apartments and shared spaces.
- Prepare apartments and communal areas to a high standard ahead of occupation or inspection.
- Ensure all work is completed in line with safety requirements, procedures and best practice.
- Record completed works and maintain up-to-date maintenance logs.
- Provide a professional and helpful service to residents.
- Work closely with colleagues to support smooth site operations.
- Act in accordance with company policies and operational guidelines.
Skills & Experience Required
- Previous experience in building maintenance, facilities or a related trade within a commercial setting.
- Experience working in a resident-facing or customer-focused environment.
- Ability to follow policies, procedures and safety guidelines with attention to detail.
- Comfortable managing multiple tasks and prioritising workload effectively.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Friendly, professional and approachable manner.
- Proactive, can-do attitude with a practical problem-solving mindset.
- Effective team player who can also work independently when required.
- Well-mannered, dependable and takes pride in high-quality work.
