The Opportunity

This position sits within one of the most technologically advanced and rapidly evolving areas of the defence industry, supporting next-generation capabilities across air, land, sea, and cyber domains.

As a Commercial & Contracts Specialist, you will be instrumental in transforming innovation into commercial success managing the full lifecycle of complex contracts and enabling the delivery of high-impact programmes.

You’ll work at the heart of the business, collaborating with engineering, finance, legal, and operational teams to ensure successful outcomes in a highly regulated and strategically critical environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end contract lifecycle, from bid support and negotiation through to execution and close-out
  • Support bid and proposal activities, ensuring commercial competitiveness and compliance
  • Contribute to pricing strategies and cost models for complex programmes
  • Lead on contractual negotiations, balancing commercial risk and opportunity
  • Manage contract variations, change control, and claims
  • Ensure compliance with relevant public sector and defence procurement frameworks
  • Build strong internal relationships across multidisciplinary teams

About You

You are a commercially minded professional with experience in procurement, contracts, or commercial management ideally within defence, aerospace, or a regulated environment.

You’ll bring:

  • Experience managing contracts or procurement processes end-to-end
  • Understanding of contract types (e.g. fixed price, cost reimbursable, framework agreements)
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Confidence working with multiple stakeholders across technical and non-technical teams
  • Knowledge of public sector or defence procurement (desirable)
  • Awareness of regulatory frameworks (e.g. procurement legislation, defence standards) is advantageous
