A new opportunity with an ambitious and successful MGA at the next stage of their growth. The Pricing and Underwriting Director will lead and shape our client’s pricing and underwriting strategy. They will be key to driving profitable and sustainable growth across the UK personal lines market. Reporting to the COO, this executive role combines advanced pricing capability, technical underwriting excellence and strong governance oversight within a delegated authority framework.
The role holder will be accountable for portfolio performance, loss ratio optimisation, pricing sophistication, and underwriting operations. As our client enters its next phase of growth, this role will be instrumental in evolving product strategy, pricing precision, and data-driven decision making.
To succeed you will need:
- Extensive senior pricing experience within UK personal lines
- MGA or delegated authority environment experience could be useful
- Strong understanding of FCA regulation, delegated underwriting authority agreements, and Consumer Duty obligations.
- Demonstrable experience building and enhancing pricing models and portfolio management frameworks.
- Proven track record of delivering profitable underwriting performance.
- Experience managing carrier relationships and negotiating DUAs.
- Strong analytical capability and commercial acumen.
- Experience serving specialist or underserved market segments is highly desirable.
