Process Quality Engineer

We’re working with a well-established, global manufacturing organisation known for delivering high-quality, safety-critical engineered solutions across industries such as energy, marine, and industrial applications.

Due to continued growth and strong market demand, they’re now looking to appoint a hands-on Process Quality Engineer to join their team.

The Opportunity

This is a key role sitting at the heart of production, where you’ll work closely with Operations, Engineering, and Quality teams to ensure products are built right first time.

You’ll be a visible presence on the shop floor, owning quality performance, solving real engineering challenges, and driving continuous improvement across manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Control & Continuous Improvement

  • Provide daily support to production, resolving defects and line stoppages
  • Lead root cause analysis using methodologies such as 8D and 5 Whys
  • Monitor and report on quality performance (RFT, NCRs, MRB)
  • Investigate customer returns and supplier issues

Process & Documentation

  • Develop and improve SOPs and inspection processes
  • Ensure compliance with standards such as ISO 9001, PED, and ATEX
  • Support audits (internal, supplier, and customer)

Manufacturing Engineering Support

  • Act as first point of contact for production equipment issues
  • Support calibration, maintenance, and engineering changes (ECO/ECN)
  • Contribute to DFMEA / PFMEA activities
  • Assist in the design of tooling, jigs, and test equipment

About You

Essential:

  • Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in a manufacturing/engineering environment
  • Strong knowledge of quality and lean principles
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and use precision measurement tools
  • Experience with assembly and test processes
  • Familiarity with 2D/3D CAD tools (e.g. AutoCAD, Inventor)

Desirable:

  • Experience with hazardous environments, hydraulics/pneumatics, or castings
  • Knowledge of PED, ATEX, or similar compliance standards
