Project Engineer
Broughton (Onsite) | Double Day Shifts | Up to £40.13/hr umbrella
Ready to get hands on at the heart of a fast-paced manufacturing environment? We’re looking for a Project Engineer to play a critical role in keeping production moving, solving problems in real time, and driving continuous improvement on the shopfloor.
This is a high impact, lineside role where no two days are the same, perfect for someone who thrives on problem solving, collaboration, and making things work better.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Provide daily lineside technical support to production teams
- Diagnose and resolve recurring technical issues beyond operator/FLM level
- Manage work orders, including out-of-cycle and rework activities
- Tackle challenges like missing parts, non-conformities, tooling, and maintenance issues
- Escalate complex problems and collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and support teams
- Drive continuous improvement and Lean initiatives across the shopfloor
- Support capacity planning and adapt to production demands
- Contribute to tooling/jig improvements and specifications
- Promote and uphold EHS and quality standards
- Support logistics prioritisation for production flow
What We’re Looking For
- Strong experience in a manufacturing or production environment (essential)
- Proven hands-on problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of engineering processes and production systems
- A structured, analytical mindset with attention to detail
- Experience with Lean manufacturing principles
- Ability to manage stakeholders and work cross-functionally
- Flexible, proactive, and team-oriented approach
- SAP experience is a plus
- NVQ Level 4 (or equivalent experience) preferred
Shifts & Pay
- Double day shift pattern (alternating weeks)
- 20% shift uplift on all hours
- £30.00 per hour (PAYE)
- £40.13 per hour (Umbrella)
- Overtime paid at:
- +25% (Mon–Fri)
- +50% (Sat–Sun)
