We are seeking a Senior Cost Manager with strong data centre experience to support development management projects from early-stage feasibility through to delivery. This is an opportunity to play a key role in major, high-value schemes, providing strategic commercial input and driving successful project outcomes within a dynamic and expanding team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review, interpret, and prepare detailed cost estimates and cost plans for data centre projects across all stages of design and construction.
  • Provide procurement advice, lead tender processes, analyse contractor bids, and prepare recommendation reports.
  • Support development management activities, providing commercial input from early feasibility through to project delivery.
  • Lead and manage client relationships, attending key stakeholder meetings and providing strategic cost advice.
  • Review contracts and support contract negotiations with contractors and key suppliers.
  • Evaluate change orders and contractor pricing, ensuring strong commercial control across fast-paced project environments.
  • Manage contract administration activities, including payment applications, variations, and financial reporting throughout the construction phase.
  • Prepare and review project plans, budgets, and internal resourcing plans.
  • Support senior management with client reporting, performance tracking, and commercial insights across multiple live projects.
  • Deliver continuous cost management services, including value engineering and cashflow forecasting.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Cost Management, Construction, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years’ experience in cost consultancy or quantity surveying, with strong data centre or mission-critical project experience.
  • MRICS or equivalent chartered status.
  • Good understanding of construction methods, procurement processes, and standard forms of contract.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial management across the full project lifecycle, ideally within complex or large-scale developments.
  • Strong commercial awareness with a proven track record of delivering high- value projects.
  • Clear communication skills, with the ability to manage senior stakeholders and build strong client relationships.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and lead within a fast-paced environment.
