Role Overview

This is a senior leadership role working closely with the CFO as a strategic and operational partner. The Deputy CFO will play a critical role in shaping financial strategy, ensuring regulatory compliance, and building scalable financial processes. This position combines high-level financial leadership with hands‑on execution across planning, treasury, and governance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with the CFO on financial strategy, governance, and overall business performance
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling, and company-wide planning processes
  • Drive financial analysis, profitability optimization, and support strategic decision-making
  • Oversee treasury, liquidity management, and capital allocation
  • Ensure full compliance with regulatory frameworks (EMI, FCA) and manage audits and regulator interactions
  • Supervise safeguarding, client funds reconciliation, and regulatory reporting
  • Improve financial processes, controls, and systems to support scaling operations

Requirements

  • Proven experience as Finance Director / Deputy CFO / senior finance leader in fintech, payments, or regulated financial services
  • Strong knowledge of card acquiring, payment flows, and schemes (e.g., Visa / Mastercard)
  • Deep understanding of EMI/FCA regulations, safeguarding, and regulatory reporting
  • Experience with financial planning, scaling businesses, and driving profitability
  • Hands‑on experience working with regulators and managing audits
  • Strong expertise in treasury, liquidity, and capital management
