Head of Product (Planning & Operational Systems)
Overview
Our client, a leading organisation within the aviation and transport sector, is seeking a Head of Product (Planning & Operational Systems) to lead the strategy and delivery of digital planning products across a complex operational environment.
This is a senior, hands-on leadership role responsible for shaping product vision, driving delivery, and ensuring that planning tools and systems enable effective, data-driven decision-making. You will work at the intersection of technology, operations, and strategy, delivering scalable solutions that support both long-term planning and real-time operational needs.
This is a full-time role based near Heathrow with hybrid working.
Responsibilities
- Define and own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for planning-related systems
- Lead and develop product teams delivering digital planning capabilities
- Collaborate closely with engineering, analytics, and operations teams to shape and deliver solutions
- Ensure products are aligned with operational realities, data constraints, and business needs
- Balance long-term strategic planning with short-term delivery priorities
- Manage risks, dependencies, and trade-offs across complex product landscapes
- Align and influence senior stakeholders across multiple functions
- Use data, metrics, and insights to track performance and drive continuous improvement
- Ensure products support resilience, efficiency, and effective decision-making
- Champion iterative development, learning, and innovation
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Head of Product or senior product leader
- Strong background delivering digital products in planning, forecasting, or operational domains
- Hands-on experience working with product, engineering, and data teams
- Strong understanding of planning systems, data flows, and decision-support tools
- Experience in agile, product-led environments
- Demonstrated ability to deliver measurable outcomes at scale
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills
