Overview

X Law is seeking an experienced Immigration Solicitor to join its specialist immigration practice. The role is immigration‑only and will involve advising and representing private and business clients across a broad range of UK immigration matters. Prior hands‑on immigration experience is essential, as the successful candidate will be required to register with the Immigration Advice Authority (IAA).

Skilled Worker visa sponsorship is available for suitable candidates, subject to meeting Home Office requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Provide expert advice and representation on private immigration matters, including:

  • Spouse and partner visas
  • Visit visas
  • FLR applications
  • Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR)
  • British citizenship and naturalisation
  • EU Settlement Scheme (EUSS) applications

Handle business immigration matters, including:

  • Innovator Founder visas
  • Sponsor licence applications
  • Sponsor licence compliance, reporting, and audits
  • Skilled Worker and Global Business Mobility routes

Ongoing corporate immigration support for sponsored employers

Prepare and submit high‑quality applications, legal representations, and supporting evidence in line with the Immigration Rules and Home Office guidance

Manage a full immigration caseload independently, ensuring compliance with deadlines and regulatory requirements

Liaise professionally with the Home Office, clients, and other stakeholders

Maintain accurate case records and ensure compliance with professional and regulatory obligations

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Strong, demonstrable knowledge of UK Immigration Law and the Immigration Rules
  • Mandatory previous experience in immigration casework sufficient to meet IAA registration requirements
  • Proven experience across both private and business immigration matters
  • Excellent legal research, drafting, and analytical skills
  • High attention to detail and a methodical approach to complex applications
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with a strong client‑focused approach
  • Ability to deal with sensitive and high‑risk cases with professionalism, discretion, and empathy

Qualifications & Professional Requirements

  • Qualified Solicitor authorised to practise in England and Wales, or equivalent UK‑recognised legal qualification
  • Eligible and willing to register with the Immigration Advice Authority (IAA)
  • Experience working within the Greater London legal landscape is an advantage, though not essential
