Location: Greater London
Job Description:

London, England, United Kingdom · Marketing & Communications

About the team

SumUp is building a full-featured personal account for consumers across Europe, making it easy to spend globally, manage money, and get rewarded for everyday spending.

This is the first dedicated CRM hire for the Consumer team – a rare opportunity to build lifecycle strategy from scratch and own how we communicate with customers across every stage of their journey, from first install through to long-term habit.

High ownership, high impact, with real scope to shape how SumUp Pay talks to its customers for years to come.

What you’ll do

Own lifecycle journeys across push, email, in-app modals, and banners, with a relentless focus on the moments that drive growth: KYC completion, card activation, first transaction, feature adoption, re‑engagement

Form hypotheses, run experiments, interpret results, and move fast, this is not a set‑and‑forget role

Monitor product usage data to identify friction points and translate them into CRM interventions or product improvement recommendations

Define and manage user segments, run A/B tests, and continuously iterate on activation, engagement, and retention across six European markets

Own Iterable end‑to‑end – data mappings, event taxonomy, user profile schemas, working closely with backend engineers to keep the data clean and the platform healthy

Partner with the GTM team to align messaging, timing, and targeting with broader SumUp growth initiatives

You’ll be great for this role if you…

Have hands‑on ownership experience across multi‑channel lifecycle campaigns in a high‑growth consumer product, fintech or neobank experience a strong plus

Think in funnels, cohorts, and activation rates, not just open rates and click‑throughs

Are comfortable with event‑driven architecture and understand how real‑time triggers power effective customer journeys

Can work confidently across technical and non‑technical stakeholders, translating platform logic into clear campaign strategy and back again

Have built from scratch before – you’re energised by the absence of a playbook, not slowed down by it

Are hands‑on enough to unblock yourself: you can read event schemas, navigate a data model, and work alongside engineers as a peer

Why you should join SumUp

Opportunity to work with a truly global, multicultural team from our central Covent Garden location, wrapped in historic charm and modern flair. This involves an office‑first setup.

Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion: be part of a workplace that values and promotes diversity, fostering an inclusive environment where everyone’s perspectives are respected and embraced.
