What to expect

The Retail Change Deployment Manager is a key member of the Retail team and a strategic partner to the Divisional Change leadership. This role is the escalation point for complex projects and the owner of the deployment operating model for transformation impacting branches. Acting as a trusted advisor, the Retail Change Deployment Manager will define optimal delivery approaches, stand up and orchestrate resource pools (internal, contingent, and preferred suppliers), and continuously improve the processes, standards, and tooling that enable Change Managers to land outcomes safely, at pace, and at scale.

They will embody a culture of inclusion, continuous improvement and high performance with a key focus on deployment quality, velocity, cost efficiency, and compliance. Enhancing customer experience and Postmaster success they will define and maintain the Retail Change Deployment Playbook for physical change and operational adoption.

What you’ll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will need to have proven experience designing and leading deployment operating models or PMO/Delivery Assurance in multi‑site retail, property, logistics, or network environments: In addition you will possess:

  • Track record of resolving complex project escalations and landing change at pace in live operational environments
  • Strong experience in resource strategy (internal, contingent, and partner ecosystems) including contracting, SoWs, SLAs, and supplier performance management.
  • Demonstrable experience of governance, assurance, and benefits realisation across concurrent programmes
  • Working knowledge of Equality Act, H&S, CDM, asbestos management and site safety; able to apply practically within branch contexts
  • Experience enabling high performance in others, building capability through standards, tools, and feedback
  • A demonstrable track record in delivering process improvements
