Salary: $17.60 to $22.00 per hour (to be negotiated) – 30 to 45 hours per week

Terms of employment: Full time, Seasonal employment – Early morning, Morning, Day, Weekend

Requirements

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience

Experience: Experience an asset

Languages: English

Responsibilities

• Manage landscaping projects
• Water and tend to plants, lawns and/or gardens
• Apply fertilizers, fungicides, herbicides, pesticides and other lawn care products
• Apply various treatments such as pruning, spraying, repairing damaged areas and injecting with treatment solutions
• Examine trees and shrubs to diagnose problems and disease
• Plan and co‑coordinate the growth and use of plants for landscaping, ornamental uses and other purposes
• Plant and maintain private and public lawns and gardens
• Plant and move trees
• Weed, prune and trim trees and plants
• Plant bulbs, flowers, shrubs and trees
• Cart and spread topsoil and other materials
• Apply fertilizers
• Rake and collect refuse
• Operate and maintain landscape maintenance equipment

Additional requirements

• Bondable
• Own vehicle and valid driver’s licence
• Ability to work independently, attention to detail, handle heavy loads, physically demanding tasks
• Manual dexterity, ability to distinguish between colours, standing for extended periods, fast‑paced environment
• Steel‑toed safety boots
• Client focus, efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral communication, flexibility, organised, reliable, team player, punctual, dependable
