Contract Role: Interim Audit & Compliance Manager
Hybrid – Manchester (1 day a week)
We’re looking for a highly skilled Interim Audit & Compliance Manager to support a key client through their audit cycle. This is a hands‑on role where the Interim Audit & Compliance Manager will take ownership of audit workpapers, bringing structure, consistency and audit‑readiness to a lean finance function.
The successful Interim Audit & Compliance Manager will take full ownership of preparing and enhancing audit documentation:
Produce high‑quality reconciliations, schedules, tie‑outs, and supporting documentation aligned to external audit standards
Standardise and improve workpaper templates across balance sheet and P&L areas, ensuring consistency and clarity
Work with limited guidance, leveraging prior‑year files and TB/GL data to build a complete audit file
Identify anomalies, gaps, and incomplete support – escalating issues where needed
Deliver a clean, well‑indexed, and fully audit‑ready file to support an efficient external audit process
Qualifications
Must hold a recognised accountancy qualification such as: ACCA / AAT / CIMA / CMIA
