The Basics

Location: London, with travel around the capital as part of role

Reporting to: Head of Sales

The Role

1. Retail Activation + Account Growth

  • Own and drive growth across a defined London territory, managing multiple retail accounts
  • Proactively visit stores to secure shelf space, off-fixture displays, and new product listings
  • Increase brand visibility across grocery, convenience, and quick-service retail outlets
  • Confidently prospect, pitch, and win new retail accounts through in-person selling
  • Support local retail promotions, launches, and in-store campaigns

2. Relationship Management

  • Build strong, professional relationships with store managers, supervisors, and independent retailers
  • Be a visible, reliable presence in stores — representing the brand on the ground
  • Collaborate with internal teams to execute in-store activations, sampling, and promotional missions
  • Communicate the brand’s mission, values, and product story clearly and consistently
  • Dedicate time each week to a personal commercial project focused on driving incremental sales
  • Learn the fundamentals of retail sales, negotiation, merchandising, and category management
  • Gain hands‑on exposure to account development, route planning, and field sales execution
  • Build a strong foundation for progression within FMCG sales or commercial teams

The Person

  • Recent graduate or post‑graduate (this role is not suitable for experienced FMCG or retail professionals)
  • No prior FMCG or field sales experience required — attitude, resilience, and drive are essential
  • Tenacious, proactive, and confident, with the ability to handle rejection and keep pushing
  • Comfortable approaching store staff, pitching in person, and negotiating space
  • Strong interest in retail, FMCG brands, consumer products, or sustainability
  • Enjoys being out in the field and thrives in a fast‑paced, target‑driven environment
  • Organised and self‑sufficient, with strong time management and route‑planning skills
  • Personable, professional, and comfortable representing a brand independently
  • Curious, coachable, and motivated to build a long‑term career in FMCG, retail sales, or commercial strategy
