The Role – Pure Business Development
This is a 100% business development role focused on winning new clients and generating vacancies, before handing over to the delivery team.
You will:
- Re-engage and unlock value from 16 years of existing client relationships
- Proactively win new business through outbound activity and networking
- Build relationships with Managers, Directors, and CEOs across Engineering, Laboratory/Life Sciences, Healthcare/MedTech, and Semiconductor sectors
- Identify hiring needs and generate high‑quality vacancies
- Work closely with leadership, reporting directly to company directors
You’ll operate within a structured 30‑step recruitment process, giving you a clear framework for success.
Tools & Technology
You’ll be equipped with:
- LinkedIn Recruiter for client and market mapping
- Matchmaker CRM to manage pipelines and activity (full training given)
- Full access to Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
What We’re Looking For
- Proven success in sales or business development (any sector)
- OR experience in recruitment (ideal but not essential)
- A confident communicator who can engage senior stakeholders
- Target‑driven with a strong desire to earn and progress
- Self‑motivated, resilient, and commercially minded
Salary & Benefits
- Uncapped commission (no threshold) – realistic high earning potential
- 20 days holiday + bank holidays

Working Hours
- Monday–Thursday: 8:30am – 5:00pm, Friday: Early finish 4.00
- Office‑based in central Harrogate (easily accessible location)
