Business Support Team Manager – Adult Social Care

North Tyneside Council is seeking a Business Support Team Manager to lead our newly created Business Support Team within Adult Social Care. We are proud to support a CQC-rated GOOD Adult Social Care service, and this role will play a vital part in maintaining and strengthening this standard. As Business Support Team Manager, you will oversee the delivery of high‑quality administrative and business support functions across the service, including direct support to Heads of Service and the Senior Management Team. A key focus of the role will be driving process improvement and service development, particularly around the administration of Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) and wider Adult Social Care Service Provisioning. You will bring strong operational insight to help streamline systems, enhance compliance, and ensure consistent, effective support to both front‑line teams and senior leaders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate, and develop a dedicated team
  • Monitor and enhance performance while promoting staff well‑being
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across Adult Social Care and wider council services
  • Provide proactive, reliable support to Heads of Service and the Senior Management Team
  • Engage confidently with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Monitor and enhance efficiency as part of the MTFP
  • Contribute to a responsive, effective, and forward‑thinking service, with a strong focus on quality and continuous improvement
